I'm Sam, your empowered birth cheerleader.
Birth has been a significant part of my world for 18 years. I started my career as a RN in obstetrics and emergency medicine, where I realized my heart was drawn to the midwifery model of care. I dove in head-first, attending births in homes, hospitals and birth centers alongside phenomenal midwives.
Throughout my time as a midwifery student and birth assistant, I was asked to teach birth classes to expecting couples, and my heart soared!

Many other birth classes focus heavily on the physiology of birth and postpartum. Don't get us wrong- you need to understand what's going to take place in your body throughout this process to best prepare and surrender to that process as it's taking place. BBA is a digital, eight-module online course. It is pre-recorded, and you can go through it at your own pace, and repeat it as many times as you would like.
In addition to the eight modules of teaching, you will be provided with several downloadable pdf worksheets and templates to help you navigate the course seamlessly.

The full course contains eight modules, and is about ten hours of content including the postpartum and cultivating your family modules.
That may sound like a lot, but the course is broken down into easy-to-digest lessons with visual support along the way. You are welcome to move through it at your own pace and re-watch or skip lessons as needed.
This course does not follow a specific breathing & birthing technique (like Lamaze or The Bradley Method). However, it is designed to be partner and family inclusive and focused on the holistic event of bringing a baby into the world, not just the day of birth.
In my (limited) experience of birth classes available at the hospital, I’ve found many focus heavily on medications, interventions and logistics. While it is important that you understand all of these details (and they are included in BBA), I believe what you focus your attention on grows. I want you to learn much more about how your body was designed to function in birth and what you’re capable of than where you should plan to park at your birth location! :)
I hand-selected my course hosting platform (Thrivecart) for three reasons: ease of use, a beautiful and user friendly experience, and raving recommendations from course takers and creators alike.
This course can be accessed from any device (including your phone!) and is wildly intuitive and straightforward. I don’t think you’ll have any trouble but of course, if you need support of any kind, my team and I will be standing by to help.
I understand couples have varying degrees of sensitivity to birth imagery so I designed this program to include everything you need, but without the shock and awe. Birth photos and videos are linked externally and will not pop up on a slide when you’re not expecting it. You will have access to some incredible videos and photos, but in a specific location you can choose to access or not.
