After supporting way too many women who showed up for birth feeling unprepared and anxious, I left behind a career in healthcare and instead:
And, before I knew it, I was being invited to help women I didn’t know navigate pregnancy and welcome their babies into the world.
Hundreds of hours in the birth room (both in and out of the hospital) and dozens of clients later, and I’ve developed a system that helps women just like you unlock what’s most important to your family so you can experience birth the way you want to.
The training I’ve created has landed me invitations to instruct doulas, birth educators, midwifery students, nurses, and missionary midwives, in addition to the families I support on a regular basis. For the girl who sat weeping over TLC’s A Baby Story throughout the late 90’s, this life is a dream.
Now, I focus my 18+ years of experience in the birth world on one wonderful mission: equipping women & families with the tools they need to experience the birth they’re dreaming of.

In short, I’ve made it my mission to ensure the women I work with understand their design, feel empowered to discover and express their unique desires for birth, and are equipped to forge ahead with a birth plan they truly align with.
I believe you were designed intentionally. Every lesson centers around the truth that your body was created with a beautiful and unique purpose in mind. You will discover how your hormones and physiology interact with your baby's (by design), in order to birth your baby with confidence.

I don’t believe in pushing a particular agenda (read: birth style, location or provider type) on parents. Instead, I provide the information that will help YOU determine which options best support YOUR preferences for birth and equip you to advocate for yourself and ensure you are heard.

I believe you are made up of three parts: body, soul and spirit. My approach to preparing for birth includes each of these areas, which will enable you to feel equipped for your baby's arrival. Most birth classes focus primarily on the body, leaving important aspects of your experience under-prepared.

She was thoughtful, intentional, and knowledgeable throughout our entire experience of working with her. Our concerns and questions were eased as she helped us truly understand our values and the why behind them, and identify our priorities and preferences for our family & birth.
She made us feel like we could do it!
Beyond the practical stuff, the course walked us through praying for our baby, our marriage, and our relationship with God. My husband and I felt uplifted every time we went through one of Sam’s lessons, and it always left us feeling more comfortable with the process of pregnancy.
Sam not only provided us with information, but walked us through a course tailored to what we needed as we were becoming parents.
